"I am so fucking annoyed!" She thought to herself. Why is it that when you want and need your family they cannot be relied upon, but when you are not wanting them around they are everywhere???
She continued to put her groceries away. Tomatoes, asparagus, broccoli and then at the bottom of the bag was a dark chocolate Snickers. She looked around to see if anyone was close by, as this candy bar was not for sharing, it was all hers. Carefully as not to loose a single smidgen of chocolate, she opened the wrapper. The dark sinful chocolate lightly brushed her lips as she opened her mouth. The thought of the nougat, mixed with peanuts and caramel on her tongue gave her a small high. After a day like today she needed it. She savored every last bite, licking the final remnants off her light pink lips.
"Who needs family when you have a dark chocolate Snickers?"

What is a Christian?
"What is a Christian?" she wondered to herself. Someone who professes to be a Christian is a self-righteous, self-centered, poor excuse for a human being. The only Christians she had ever met were rude, obnoxious and always looking down on her and her family. These so called Christians were the ones who re-affirmed her belief that there was no such god.

The project
Her face was beat red. Her blood boiling. She could feel the her voice raging from the bottom of her stomach, inching its way up to her throat and out. All she wanted to do was scream. Scream from the top of her lungs, so loud that not a single person could escape the echo of her voice. Yet, she just watched in silent agony as the blond took credit for her work.
She had spent a solid month on the project, it was her idea, her sweat, her reputation on the line and the blond was nodding and smiling at Baldy as he congratulated her on the success of it all. It was not Baldy's fault, he had no idea that the blond did not actually help in any way. How could he? The article in the company's quarterly report barely mentioned her name and the blonde's picture was right there for everyone to see, not hers.
The pounding in her head was now blinding, the Blond offered to autograph the project for Baldy. He laughed as she pulled a copy out of her desk and handed it to him.
This was it, the last straw, she could feel the heat in her face coming to the surface. "ARGHHH!!!!" Her voice bounced from one end of the lobby to the other. Everyone turned and looked at her, in wonderment. She grabbed the copy from Baldy hand and began ripping it apart, into shreds.
Then she came to, focused, realizing it was a fantasy. Still hazy from her day dream, she saw Baldy smiling at the blond and blond thanking him. Slowly, without a scene, she exited the room. Feeling small, very small.

The House
She was just 5 years old when her family moved to the new house. It was so much bigger than her family's old single wide trailer. The color was "pickinni blue" as her mother called it. Two houses in one, a duplex. Earlier, her father had explained that the income from the rental could help pay the mortgage as he was trying to calm her mother. Her mother had no idea that he had bought a house without her input, this was the first she had seen it, on moving day.
She heard her mother complain that the carpets need a good cleaning, as she walked through the large living room. The smell was a mix of clean sheets drying in the sun and musty moth balls. The room had shag pea green carpet against brown wood paneling, with a yellowish popcorn ceiling.
As she entered the kitchen, she thought to herself that her old trailer would be able to fit within this one room. There were dark brown cabinets with brilliant orange counter tops on three out of four walls. The linoleum floor was made of squares of brown and orange flowers linked together by yellow roads, she noted that a matchbox car could travel the whole length of the kitchen while zig-zaging in these yellow roads.
Behind the kitchen was a small bathroom and two bedrooms. The trailer had two bedrooms, one for her mother and father and one for her two younger sisters, she had been sleeping on the couch for the last few months since her youngest sister had arrived. "Looks like I will be sleeping on the couch here." She thought to herself. Her mother noticed the concern in her eyes and lovingly whispered, "There will be room for you on the new bunk beds."
Her parents room was also wall to wall shag pea green carpet with wood paneling, but her room was blue, cobalt blue. "They must have had boys.," her mother commented referring to the previous owners. She on the other hand, just thought it was the prettiest room ever, how could anyone not love this blue room. It was hers and she loved it.
